Expecting a baby?

Planning to give birth with Hull Hospital’s Trust?

Welcome to antenatal education.

Having a baby (or babies) is an exciting time but you may have many questions to ask along the way. If you are planning to give birth in Hull Women and Children’s hospital, one of our sister sites or at home with our local community midwives, we would like to offer you antenatal education sessions. These are to provide support and information for your pregnancy, preparing for birth and caring for a new baby.

We welcome everyone. We would like to share your excitement and make you feel as comfortable as possible. If you have a particular need which might not be met in the group sessions, please contact us and we will try to find a way to help.

All our classes are free of charge.

What do we offer?

  • Choice – what works for you? We offer face to face or live online classes. We also have digital resources you can access
  • Midwives – our classes/sessions are led by qualified practising midwives who can share information about our local services
  • Sessions about feeding and baby care which are provided by a range of professional and friendly staff.

What do the sessions cover?

  • Preparation for labour, and birth options
  • Postnatal care.

Alongside this are sessions on infant feeding and baby care. These cover:
