Acorn Ward is a busy 21-bedded surgical ward, caring for children and young people from 0-16 years. We are a friendly team, committed to providing quality care centred on children and their families.
Children and young people are admitted to Acorn Ward for planned and emergency surgery for a variety of specialities, including:
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedic
- Ophthalmology
- Maxillofacial
- Ear Nose and Throat
- Plastic Surgery
We also provide a supportive environment, which enables nursing students to learn and develop their knowledge and skills of children’s surgery.
Facilities
There is a parents room and a playroom with a dedicated team of hospital play specialists.
