A key requirement for anyone involved in the conduct of clinical research is Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training. GCP is the ethical and practical standard to which all clinical research is conducted. GCP training is mandatory for research staff involved with clinical trials using investigational medicinal products (CTIMPs).

To book on local face-to-face GCP training courses or on-line GCP training first create a new account on the NIHR CRN Learn system. Use your work email address and respond back to the verification email you will receive to activate your account. Any problems at this stage, please contact CRN Service Desk on 0207 333 5894.

For face-to-face course bookings, please select ‘GCP face-to-face workshops, and other Local Learning’, followed by ‘CRN Yorkshire and the Humber’, followed by ‘GCP’. You will now need to select the request for an enrolment key, to view and make a booking for your course.  Once you have made your booking you will receive an email confirmation. For face-to-face enquiries, please contact training.crnyorkshumber@nihr.ac.uk or phone 0113 206 0441.

For online eGCP, please select ‘Good Clinical Practice (GCP) e-learning’ and request an enrolment key for the course you would like to complete.  For all problems relating to the access of on-line courses, please call the GCP Help desk on 0113 343 0406.

At present, we recommend that research staff who are new to clinical research complete either the face-to-face Introduction to GCP training course or the GCP e-learning course, and then refresh GCP training approximately every 2 years by completing either a face-to-face GCP refresher course or the GCP e-learning course.
