The infectious disease department gets involved in commercial, non-commercial and in-house studies. We aim to choose studies that will benefit our patient group and improve the care or treatment we are currently providing.
Our current research interests include
- Preventing recurrence of Clostridium Difficile.
- Improving patient outcomes in patients who are infected with Staphylococcus Aureus.
- Improving the way patients with Encephalitis are identified, monitored and treated to improve patient outcomes.
- Comparing intravenous antibiotic to oral antibiotics in patients who need 6 weeks of treatment for bone or joint infections.
