Who are the Orthoptic Team?

The Orthoptic team are specialists in visual development and eye movement anomalies. They are primarily responsible for the investigation, diagnosis, and management of abnormal visual development, reduced vision and eye movement disorders. The team assess patients with common complaints including double vision, squints and lazy eyes.

Appointments

All Orthoptic clinics are by appointment only. An Orthoptic appointment takes approximately 20-40 minutes. If you need to see other eye specialists such as the optometrist and/or ophthalmologist, the visit may take up to three hours. How often you need an appointment will depend on your age, type of eye problem and treatment. Your first appointment to the clinic often takes the longest.
